WHEN BASIL’S OF REIGATE CAME TO LIFE
When Tom, the owner of Basil’s, reached out to discuss his vision for the wine bar, it was clear that this project would be something special. Collaborating with Tom and Jozef Roach Studio, the architects behind the design, I worked closely with their detailed plans to bring their vision of a bespoke wine bar to life.
The space was transformed through bespoke carpentry, including a custom bar and other bespoke furniture, to enhance its functionality and character. Now that Basil’s of Reigate wine bar is ready to open its doors, I’m proud to share the results of this exciting project.
A CENTERPIECE BAR THAT MAKES A STATEMENT
The bespoke bar is the heart of Basil’s, serving as the hub of this cosy wine bar. The seating, carefully integrated around the bar, creates an inviting space for guests to gather, enjoy a drink, and connect. Designed by Jozef Roach Studio and built by New Heights Carpentry, the bar combines practicality with a striking aesthetic, perfectly complementing the warm and welcoming atmosphere envisioned for Basil’s.
HANDCRAFTED TABLE BENCHES BUILT TO LAST
The table benches were crafted to align seamlessly with the design aesthetic. Following the architect’s specifications and collaborating with the owner, I created pieces that offer both durability and style, providing practical seating that enhances the inviting atmosphere of Basil’s.
SHELVING AND PANELLING FOR WARMTH AND FUNCTIONALITY
Bespoke shelving and wooden panelling were installed to add warmth and depth to the space. These elements create a cohesive environment that blends practicality with elegance, enhancing the overall atmosphere of the wine bar.
A SUSTAINABLE TWIST: THE ENTRANCE DIVIDER
The entrance divider, crafted from recycled doors, adds character to the space while defining the entrance in a creative and practical way. This unique feature reflects a commitment to sustainability, seamlessly blending function with individuality.

Every detail of this project was carefully considered to deliver the client’s vision for a warm and inviting wine bar. From crafting the custom bar and table benches to installing bespoke shelving and panelling, each element was designed to enhance the cosy atmosphere and bring the space to life.
