Bespoke Shaker-style Fitted Wardrobe
The story behind the carpentry
New Heights Carpentry recently tackled a project for an existing client in Reigate, Surrey, who wanted to address the storage challenges often found in newly built properties. Her master bedroom had been recently redecorated, and she was keen to make the most of the space above her existing wardrobe, a hollow stud wall perfect for additional functionality.
During the design consultation, ideas were exchanged, and her vision for the room was carefully considered. She requested various sizes drawers to store clothing that could be accessed without opening the wardrobe doors. To achieve this, New Heights Carpentry designed three smaller drawers on the bottom left and two larger drawers on the right, creating a symmetrical appearance with the illusion of three drawers on each side.
A bespoke three-panel shaker design was handcrafted in the workshop, installed over two days, and finished in an elegant emerald green. Chrome handles were chosen to enhance the wardrobe’s aesthetic, resulting in a stylish and practical addition to the bedroom.
