OUR TERMS & CONDITIONS
QUOTATION
A quotation is an offer from New Heights Carpentry to the customer to carry out the work described for the specified contract price. Quotations and revised quotations are valid for 28 days from the issue date. Prices cannot be guaranteed after this period. Each quotation revision includes a fully detailed description of the proposed works. Only items or features expressly stated in the quotation are included in the work.
DEPOSIT & PAYMENT SCHEDULE
A 10% non-refundable deposit is required upon confirmation of your estimate to secure your booking with New Heights Carpentry. A further 40% non-refundable deposit is due 6 weeks prior to the start of work. The remaining balance for the carpentry installation will be due on the day of completion. Payments can be made via bank transfer, online payment link, or any other agreed method. Detailed payment instructions will be provided with the invoice. If you have chosen decoration work, it will be handled by our trusted subcontractor, Simon (who is not VAT registered). No VAT will be applied, and the full balance is payable to Simon on the day of completion, with no deposit required.
DURATION OF WORKS
The estimated time for completion of installation is our best estimate prior to commencement. We cannot accept liability for any costs, losses, or expenses incurred due to delays.
DESIGN ADJUSTMENTS & CUSTOMISATIONS
New Heights Carpentry is committed to ensuring you are completely happy with the design before proceeding. Once the project is agreed upon and the second deposit is paid, any additional changes or requests may impact the timeline or cost. New Heights Carpentry will always strive to accommodate these requests, and any adjustments will be discussed and confirmed before moving forward.
CANCELLATION
No agreement or order placed by a client may be cancelled except with the seller’s written consent. The client must indemnify the seller against all losses, including loss of profit, costs (including labour and materials), damages, charges, and expenses incurred as a result of the cancellation. All monies due will be subject to our standard payment terms.
DECORATION
Decoration services are not included in our standard quotations unless specifically requested. If you opt for decoration, it will be carried out by our trusted subcontractor, Simon, with separate payment terms as outlined above.
Should you choose to handle the decoration yourself or use another decorator, please note the following:
• If doors need to be rehung after decoration, an additional fee will apply.
• It is the responsibility of your chosen decorator to ensure all surfaces are adequately prepared and made good before decoration begins, as this is essential to achieving the best possible finish.
• Appropriate storage of doors during decoration is crucial to prevent bowing or warping. Doors must be stored flat on a stable, level surface in a dry, well-ventilated area, away from direct sunlight, damp conditions, and extreme temperatures. They should also be protected from physical damage during storage and handling.
New Heights Carpentry cannot accept responsibility for any issues arising from incorrect preparation or improper storage during the decoration process.
WORKSPACE
Ensure there is ample space for New Heights Carpentry to work. The area should be clear of all personal belongings unless agreed otherwise. We provide dust sheets, and all tools have professional dust extraction ports, but some fine dust may settle. Please ensure all fragile or easily damaged items are removed.
RUBBISH DISPOSAL
The cost of disposing of unwanted items is usually included in the written quotation. However, New Heights Carpentry does not accept responsibility for the removal of hazardous waste such as asbestos, gas canisters, fridges, and freezers.
PARKING
Please provide parking permits or vouchers where required. Our quotes do not include parking expenses.
MEDIA
New Heights Carpentry takes pictures of project progress. We reserve the right to use these pictures in our portfolio, on our website, and on social media for marketing purposes. Please inform us via email at the start of your project if you do not consent to this.
LATE PAYMENTS
Interest on overdue payments will accrue from the due date until the date of payment at a rate of 8% per month above the Bank of England’s base rate, with part of a month treated as a full month for this purpose. Interest is payable even if the account or part of it is subject to dispute.
DISPUTES
Any disputes regarding the invoice or work carried out must be raised in writing within 5 days of the invoice date. If no written notification is received within this period, payment is due, and any disputes will be handled internally, with interest accruing as specified above.
VARIATIONS AND EXTRAS
Any unforeseen work or variations will be agreed upon before commencement, with a fixed quotation provided where possible. In other cases, a day rate of £35.00 per hour (plus VAT) for carpentry work, plus materials at cost + 15%, will apply.
